Погода это не только то, о чем так сильно любят порассуждать чопорные обитатели Туманного Альбиона, но и одна из главных составляющих нашего дня, формирующая в какой-то мере наше настроение и даже самочувствие. Тема "The Weather" никогда не отличалась для учеников особой сложностью, однако в приведенном ниже примере она отражает удачное сочетание всей новой лексики 9 класса собранной в одном высказывании.
Тема может показаться очень простой, однако она помогает выучить весь активный словарь юнита и лучше подготовиться к словарному диктанту или лексическому тесту.

The Weather
The weather is a subject we can always talk about. It often changes and brings gale or heat, sunshine or downpour, sleet or breeze. One day is often unlike the next. In summer the sun shines, often there are no gusts of wind and there are no overcast, so the sky is blue and clear. The weather is dry and it is pleasant to breathe fresh air. In some occasions, due to lack of rain and constant sun drought may occur, which can cause wildfire or crop damage. Also some people can suffer because it is stuffy when the weather is boiling hot.
When autumn comes, in September it is still warm and sunny – it is the golden autumn, but then leafs are falling down, the days become shorter and colder. It gets dark earlier and often heavy black clouds blanket the sky, showing that the strong wind and downpour will last for a couple of days. An umbrella or a raincoat is necessary in those days if you don't want to get wet through.
At last frost and snow come. Fields, forests and houses are covered with snow and rivers and lakes with ice. In winter there are also many magnificent days. Some people like clear frosty winter days when the sun is so bright you can hardly open your eyes. On such a day you can see icicles on the roof of your house. They shine like diamonds in the sunrays and it’s fun to watch them growing bigger and bigger. But after all the temperature goes up and the snowdrifts melt and turn into small dirty puddles that you have to jump over on your way to work or to school.
Spring brings sunshine and warm winds. It is great to watch nature in spring. In March it is still cold and wet, but in April grass is becoming greener, first leafs appear on the trees, the birds are singing day and night, all nature is celebrating a new spring. At the same time the weather will be very changeable till May, so you can easily catch a cold.
As for me there is no bad weather. Both spring and summer, autumn and winter have their lovely days in which you just need to dress for the weather and enjoy damp, drizzle, heat or sleet.
